Rainy Day

Today my heart feels like a sky learning how to breathe again.
Clouds gather, but not to threaten —
just to soften the world,
just to dim the noise,
just to give me space to feel.

The rain arrives like a gentle confession,
each drop a small truth I’ve been carrying in silence.
I listen to the rhythm —
steady, patient, familiar —
and it steadies something inside me too.

I once was the rock I stood on,
solid and sure,
but storms have worn me in places I never showed.
Now I stand weathered,
crumbling in quiet corners,
holding onto strength and love borrowed
from the hands that refuse to let me fall.

Still, the rain comforts me.
The sounds — soft tapping like a heartbeat I trust.
The smells — earth rising warm and honest to meet the sky.
The calm — a hush that settles over everything.
The darkened sky — not frightening,
but soothing,
a reminder that even light needs time to rest.

And when the storm finally exhales,
I look for the rainbow —
that quiet arc of color that never demands attention,
only offers hope.
A symbol of beauty from the skies,
a promise that breaking isn’t the end,
that something tender can rise from the ache.

This is my emotional weather today —
a storm that doesn’t hurt,
a sky that understands,
a rain that heals,
and a rainbow that reminds me
I’m still here,
still rising,
still finding color after the fall.
